Practical Silverlight and XAMLFest

Lots of Silverlight and WPF learning opportunities locally this month… here’s a rundown of the training options.

First, SoftSource Consulting is hosting a one-day training session called Practical Silverlight in Seattle on February 10th and Portland on February 12th. Shaun McAravey and Patrick Cauldwell are tag-teaming the instruction for this course, with four in-depth sessions through the course of the day. Cost is $100; visit http://education.sftsrc.com/silverlight for more info.

Next is XAMLFest. This is a two-day, Microsoft-led course with split days of classroom-led instruction and hands-on labs. Both WPF and Silverlight are covered. This is targeted more towards ISVs but not exclusively so. This event is free to attend… email me if interested. Attendees will receive copies of Visual Studio 2008 Pro and Expression Studio 2. To participate in the labs you should plan on bringing a laptop.

If you’re trying to decide between either of these, I’d suggest Practical Silverlight if you’re looking for something more in-depth and specifically focused on Silverlight development. XAMLFest will cover more ground but won’t get as deep…. choose accordingly. (Of course you could attend both… :)
